Sto. Niño de Parada Parish Church

Parada, Santa Maria, Bulacan

Sto. Niño de Parada Parish was established and declared full-fledged parish on November 16, 1949. Under its jurisdiction are sub-parishes located in the four(4) barangays of the Municipality of Santa Maria, Province of Bulacan, namely, Tumana, San Vicente, Buenavista and Parada. Barangay Parada, being the center of these barangays is where the Parish Church was built and erected. As per 1999 census, the whole parish has a population of about 16,312 and the total land area is 1,590.55 hectares. It is bounded by Barangays Poblacion and San Jose Patag in the north, City of San Jose del Monte in the east, Municipality of Marilao in the west and Barangays Camangyanan and San Gabriel in the south. According to an old faithful, who used to be a choir member when this parish was organized, Sto. Nino was chosen as its Patron. The choosing of the Patron was prompted by a bright idea that penetrated the minds of the zealous believers to have the Child Jesus placed in between the La Inmaculada Concepcion, patron of Santa Maria Parish, and St. Joseph, Patron of San Jose del Monte Parish. This was unanimously agreed upon by the parishioners because they firmly believe that placing the Child Jesus in between the aforementioned parishes would signify and would attest to the closeness and fullness of the Holy Family.
